RE/Youth Ministry NEWS

“Young people are the face of the Church’s future.” – Pope Francis

Want Happiness? Take the High Road

In today’s Gospel of Matthew, Jesus delves further into the Beatitudes –– attitudes that make us happy. Instead of choosing sin, lust, adultery, divorce and swearing, we must willingly choose to obey the commandments, forgive and reconcile with each other, love our spouse faithfully, choose fidelity and purity and letting our ‘yes’ mean ‘yes’ and our ‘no’ mean ‘no’. Is there a person we need to forgive or ask for their forgiveness? Perhaps this week, Jesus will provide the courage and opportunity for us to reconcile with one another. Want happiness? Taking the high road makes all the difference. Peace in Christ, Anne

Eucharistic Adoration

Are You a True Disciple?

In today’s competitive world, many people do not see justice and humility as virtues to acquire. Yet Jesus makes a big point of giving us the beatitudes as the blueprint to follow for our lives. Being poor in spirit, meek, thirsting and hungering for righteousness, being merciful, clean of heart, and peacemakers are all hallmarks of the true disciple and a child of God. After doing all these things, however, the true disciple must prepare for persecution. Are you really ready to become a true disciple?

Begin by spending an hour with Jesus in Eucharistic Adoration.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
8:00 a.m.–12:00 Noon on Thursdays at JP II
Benediction 12:30 p.m.

Please consider setting aside one hour for Our Lord each week. Call the parish office for available hours.

Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament
Blessed be God.
Blessed be his holy name. Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and true man.
Blessed be the name of Jesus.
Blessed be his most Sacred Heart.
Blessed be his most Precious Blood.
Blessed be Jesus in the most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.
Blessed be the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete.
Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most holy.
Blessed be her holy and Immaculate Conception.
Blessed be her glorious Assumption.
Blessed be the name of Mary, Virgin and Mother.
Blessed be Saint Joseph, her most chaste spouse.
Blessed be God in his angels and in his saints.
